I think 2014 will be the year of crocheted blankets. ;0)
I am currently participating in the CAL via a Facebook group.

Every week on Friday a few new rows are published, translated from the English pattern into Dutch. I must admit, I could not wait and actually prefer the English terms, so I started earlier and are way ahead of the CAL group.

This was the inspiration for this blanket, which is 216 stitches wide, roughly 1,50 meters:

And this is the result so far:

I deviated from the pattern a little as the Catherine Wheels (bottom white & grey) and Chevron (blue & green) are not my favorite and after numerous attempts I still ended up with quite a few stitches missing. Hence, I decided to replace these rows with different stitches, including these:

As you can see on the top of my work, I have just started making these hearts with white & green.

However, on this same Facebook page, a granny square blanket pattern has started as well. Every week a new granny square pattern is revealed. I will make 4 squares of each pattern for a blanket for our bed. I was inspired by these colors:

So far I have made a couple of the squares but will wait to put them together at the end of the year when all squares are finished. Here a few of the squares I have made:

Last but not least, the granny square blanket via swapbot. Every month I make 4 granny squares of the pre-decided color and send them to two different people. I receive 4 grannies as well, from two different people. At the end of the year I will have send and received 44 squares of people all over the world. Cannot wait to see the finished blankets.

Ik denk dat 2014 het jaar van gehaakte dekens is. ;0)

Ik maak momenteel deel aan de CAL via een Facebook-groep.

Elke week op vrijdag worden een paar nieuwe toeren gepubliceerd, vertaald uit het Engels. Ik moet toegeven, ik kon niet wachten en werk eigenlijk liever met de Engels termen, dus ik ben eerder begonnen en loop dus behoorlijk uit op de CAL Facebook groep.

Dit was de inspiratie voor deze deken, die 216 steken breed is, ongeveer 1,50 meter:

Ik ben wel wat afgeweken van het originele patroon. De Catherine Wheels (grijs & wit) en Chevron (blauw & groen) zijn niet mijn favoriet heb ik gemerkt want zelfs na talloze pogingen eindigde ik nog steeds met een flink aantal minder steken. Daarom heb ik besloten om deze rijen te vervangen door andere steken, waaronder deze:

Zoals je bovenaan mijn werk kunt zien, ik ben nu net begonnen aan de hartjes met wit en groen.

Echter, op deze zelfde Facebook pagina, is er ook een granny square deken begonnen. Elke week wordt er een nieuwe granny square patroon onthuld, ik maak per patroon 4 vierkantjes om uiteindelijk een sprei voor ons bed te maken. Dit was de inspiratie voor de kleuren:

Ik heb nu 3 x 4 grannies af, maar ik wacht tot het einde van het jaar om ze aan elkaar te haken.

Last but not least, de grannie square deken via swapbot . Elke maand maak ik 4 grannies in een vooraf vastgestelde kleur en stuur ze naar twee verschillende mensen op. Ik ontvang ook 4 grannies per maand van twee verschillende mensen. Aan het eind van het jaar zal ik 44 grannies verstuurd en ontvangen hebben, van mensen over de hele wereld. Ik kan bijna niet wachten tot deze deken af is.

Ik zal alle drie de dekens maandelijks op dit blog updaten zodat jullie de vooruitgang kunnen volgen.

Wij zitten er in ieder geval lekker warm bij tijdens de koude maanden van 2014.
